This summer, the Hope After Harm team will be out and about across the Thames Valley—and we’d love to meet you!

We’re excited to be taking part in three brilliant community events: Witney Pride, Reading Pride, and the Be Nice Festival hosted by Nai’s House. Each one is a celebration of inclusion, connection, and empowerment—values that sit right at the heart of what we do.

Why We’re Getting Involved

We believe it’s important to be out in the community—not just to raise awareness of our work, but to connect with the people and groups doing great things locally. These events give us the chance to listen, learn, and build stronger relationships with others who care about making a difference. Whether it’s volunteers, local organisations, or people simply curious about what we do, we’re always keen to have a chat and explore new ways to work together.

 Where You’ll Find Us

You’ll see us at Witney Pride and Reading Pride, where we’ll be joining in the celebrations, showing our support, and sharing more about our outreach work. Pride events are an important space for solidarity and visibility—and we’re proud to stand alongside the communities we serve.

We’ll also be at the Be Nice Festival, a fantastic local event focused on kindness, inclusion and connection. It’s a great opportunity for us to meet others who care deeply about supporting people through difficult times—and to build new partnerships in the process.

What We’ll Be Talking About

Support for Survivors of Sexual Violence & Domestic Abuse
We offer trauma-informed outreach and support for people affected by sexual violence and domestic abuse; especially those not accessing mainstream services.

Peer-Led Projects
We run creative, community-based projects shaped by lived experience; centred on voice, resilience, and healing through connection.

Restorative Approaches & Youth Mentoring
We provide safe, supported restorative work for young people and schools, as well as youth mentoring services, helping repair harm and build healthier young people.

Partnerships & Volunteering
We’re always looking to connect with local groups, potential volunteers, and people who want to get involved in creating safer, more supportive communities.

Support for Families of Offenders

Our team provide confidential advice for the families of people who are under investigation or charged any internet offences involving indecent images of children or sexual communication with children.

Rise For Change

Our accredited, workforce training programme is designed to support professionals at all levels with trauma-informed knowledge, tools, and survivor-centred skills to respond to domestic abuse.

Bright Sky App

Following success of the Bright Sky UK App, Hope After Harm has supported the roll-out of Bright Sky App to 12 different countries. Funded by the Vodafone Group Foundation, more than a million people worldwide now have access to the support and education that Bright Sky provides for survivors of domestic abuse.

Help Us Reach More People

We’d love to attend more community events across the Thames Valley. If you’re organising one, or know of a local day, festival, or gathering where Hope After Harm could be a good fit, please let us know.

We’re especially keen to take part in:

  • Local Pride or equality events
  • Community days and neighbourhood gatherings
  • University or college engagement events
  • Faith and interfaith community events
  • Activities led by or supporting marginalised groups

Let’s Work Together

We’re looking to meet:

  • Community groups who’d like to collaborate
  • People interested in volunteering with us
  • Supporters or donors who want to get involved
  • Event organisers who’d like to invite us along

If you’re attending one of our confirmed events—come and say hello! And, if you’re planning something and think we should be there, we’d love to hear from you.
