What Does Christmas Mean To You …?
Christmas is a time for sharing, warmth, family and friends – where home is a safe haven from the harshness of winter. OR…..
Imagine spending Christmas without your family
Imagine feeling terrified in your own home
Imagine being scared of going to your Christmas party for fear of the repercussions
Imagine being a child ….. who can’t wait for Christmas to be over
Sadly, many of those we support, whose lives have been impacted by crime do not need to imagine this – it is their reality, everyday – where Christmas is just another occasion to dread and fear. Women and children experiencing domestic abuse for example, live in fear of this particularly isolating time where they are tied to the house with their abuser and the usual ‘escape routes’ (work, school, community) are closed.
NOW….Imagine you could make a difference…
There are lots of ways you can support the work we do including some fun fund raising activities you might like to do with friends or colleagues as we lead up to the festive season…
- Wear your Christmas jumper with pride !
- Guess how many baubles in the jar!
- Sing-a-long a lunch hour with your favourite carols and colleagues!
- Pin the tail on the office reindeer!
- OR …. just chat, eat cake & spend time checking friends and colleagues are ok this Christmas …?
Maybe you have some other fun ideas (please let us know!) to help raise funds to support our work? Small acts can make a huge difference. To support our ‘Imagine’ appeal please do visit our dedicated Donations page.
