How You Can Make a Tangible Difference in Our Local Community
At Hope After Harm, we see every day how small acts of compassion can ripple out to create real, lasting impactful change.
You don’t need deep pockets or lots of spare time to help, Sometimes, it’s the smallest of gestures that can have the biggest impact in our own community.
£5 Can Start a Conversation
A £5 donation might not seem like it could achieve much, but, it could buy a coffee for a mentor and young person to share some time in a safe and neutral space. For young people at risk consistent one-to-one support is crucial. A drink in a safe space can lead to moments of connection, trust, and hope that might otherwise be out of reach for so many young people in our region.
£10 Can Provide an Opportunity to Connect
With £10, your support could provide craft supplies for one of our specialist Sexual Violence Survivor support groups. These creative sessions are more than just arts and crafts, they’re a way for survivors to process trauma in a non-verbal, nurturing environment. The freedom to create, to express, and to be heard can be incredibly empowering.
Volunteering Matters
If you have a little time to give, your presence could be life changing. Volunteers with Hope After Harm support our frontline services – volunteers facilitate groups, provide peer support, mentor young people at risk and help raise awareness in local communities. You don’t need to be an expert; we welcome volunteers from a variety of backgrounds and especially those with lived experience.
Whether you’re welcoming someone at the start of their journey or walking alongside them through the toughest of times, your support tells survivors: you matter.
Why Your Help Is Needed Now
Across our community demand for trauma-informed services is rising. Survivors are waiting. Some are trying to carry the weight of their experiences alone. But your small act, whether it’s a small donation or a few hours of your time each month, can help empower real change.
Together, we can offer real support and affect change when people need it most.
Be the Difference
Whether it’s £5, £10, or a few hours of your month, you can be part of someone’s journey to healing.
