Thames Valley Partnership were thrilled to host the first ever Thames Valley Criminal Justice Charity Awards Evening on Friday 14th at the Oxfordshire Golf Club. The event was well attended by guests from across the criminal justice agencies and related fields, employees and volunteers, those shortlisted for Awards and their supporters and friends.
We have all faced an exceptionally challenging couple of years, with the Covid pandemic in particular presenting different challenges to different people. If there is one positive to show itself in the last 2 years, it is the efforts of outstanding individuals and groups who have made a difference in the lives of others – ordinary people making amazing things happen in our communities – and these are the very individuals the Awards evening celebrated.
Nominations were invited earlier this year cross 7 categories – and were judged by an independent panel in July. Winners were announced at the recent event where they received an Award trophy, cash prize and of course the recognition they rightly deserved for their amazing achievements and efforts. Hearing the short citation for each winner was a very humbling experience.
A great evening was had by all and we hope this will be the first of many more annual Criminal Justice Charity Awards.
Our special thanks to The Countess Howe, HM Lord-Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire and the Thames Valley High Sheriffs 2022/2023 for their kind assistance in the judging of the entries. Sincere thanks also to the event sponsors P2P, Lloyds Bank Foundation and also to the Thames Valley Police and Crime Commissioner who not only sponsored the event but presented the Awards on the night.
